KCET Summer Cinema Series

KCET's Summer Cinema Series is back and it is full swing having already hosted two dates but there are still seven nights left to attend. Last year I covered KCET's weekly cinema series and this year I have returned to cover what I can (busy schedule permitting). Moderator Pete Hammond is also back behind the microphone asking some great questions to talent of the films being screened. Just what is being screened you ask, take a look below...

A computer animated film produced by the talents of Pixar Animation Studios (Toy Story/Bug’s Life/Ratatouille/Cars). It is a dark and mythical fairy tale of sorts set against the backdrop of the Highlands of Scotland. The story tells the tale of an unruly princess, who through her defiant actions brings much chaos to the kingdom. The film employs the voice talents of an all-star cast: Emma Thompson, Kelly MacDonald, Billy Connolly, and Craig Ferguson.

A drama that marks the directorial debut of director Alex Kurtzman, tells the story of a struggling man, who after flying home to L.A. for the funeral of his father discovers that a stipulation in the father’s will states that he must deliver a $150,000 to a 30-year old sister he didn’t realized existed and her troubled 12-year old son. Film stars Chris Pine, Elizabeth Banks, Michelle Pfeiffer, and John Favreau.
