Teaser Trailer - The Devil's Carnival

Repo! The Genetic Opera fans have something to be excited for, and I'm not talking about the latest shadowcast show. Darren Lynn Bousman and Terrance Zdunich have teamed up once again to bring us "The Devil's Carnival." While 'Carnival' does not look to be directly linked to 'Repo!,' reports today called it a "follow-up," after viewing the teaser and website it certainly is coming from very similar territory. Take a look at the teaser trailer for yourself below.

As expected Darren Lynn Bousman and Terrance Zdunich's "The Devil's Carnival" looks to be a real treat. Cinematographer Joseph White looks to bring back the visual style of Bousman and Zdunich's not to mention their taste for horror. While this teaser doesn't reveal much outside of who will be involved in the Carnival, it is enough to get my mouth watering for new music and more exploration of Bousman and Zdunich's underworld. Bousman told THR 'Carnival' will be, "more accessible than Repo but also a lot darker than Repo."

As for plans to unleash "The Devil's Carnival" the official website reveals that the 55-minute follow-up musical will beginning a 30-city tour beginning in April. To coincide with the tour, there will be a 13-song soundtrack released. Terrance Zdunich (who co-wrote Repo!) also wrote the music to 'Carnival' with Saar Hendelman. Returning cast members from Repo! include Paul Sorvino, Alexa Vega, Bill Moseley, and Ogre (in roles not connected with Repo!). New cast members include Jessica Lowndes, Sean Patrick Flannery, Briana Evigan, Marc Senter, and Tillman Norsworthy. As much as I did get use to her performance (and even grow to like it), its nice to see that Paris Hilton wasn't brought back on staff.

Head on over to The Devil's Carnival website to sign-up for updates on the 30-city tour, browse the store, see some of the new characters, and read a bit more on the back story to this latest endeavor between Darren Lynn Bousman and Terrance Zdunich.
