Trailer - Knights of Badassdom

Word of mouth for "Knights of Badassdom" has been slowly gaining traction over the last year. I've heard people talking and seen a few buzz pieces on a couple blogs about it being made and their excitement to see how it turns out but for some reason I had yet to pay any attention. Then I watched the newly released trailer that was shown at Comic Con and immediately began writing about here to share with all of you. That's actually not true, I watched the trailer three times before I began writing, but you get the picture. Take a look below and see what all the fuss is about...

One big reason I had not paid that much attention to "Knights of Badassdom" was because I knew it was going to be a tongue and cheek film about live-action role playing otherwise known as larping. There is a fantastic documentary called "Darkon" that released in 2006 that frankly felt like all I needed to ever see on the larping community. Then in 2008 the comedy "Role Models" with Paul Rudd and Christopher Mintz-Plasse also took aim on the larping community and did a okay job with it. There certainly is stories to be mined from the larping community I just wasn't sure how much more I needed of it.

Well it seems I did need more of the larping community because horror director Joe Lynch's "Knights of Badassdom" looks badass! Not only that but it looks friggin' hysterical! Looking over the cast members (Peter Dinklage, Steve Zahn, Jimmi Simpson, Danny Pudi and Ryan Kwanten) I hold my head in shame contemplating why I ever doubted this project. Sure, I could be easily getting ahead of myself but if the film can carry the tone of comedy/horror generated in the trailer, "Knights of Badassdom" is gonna rule! No word on a release date yet, but fingers crossed it finds a release by the end of 2011.
