Trailer: Cyrus

Mainly unknown writers, directors and brothers, Mark and Jay Duplass have been quietly making some indie gems. This year however the brothers have "Cyrus" releasing through Fox Searchlight and it looks to be a wonderfully strange comedy. A few weeks back, the trailer premiered online and I have finally got around to posting it. Take a look at the hilarious trailer starring Jonah Hill, John C. Riley, Marisa Tomei and Catherine Keener after the break...

"Cyrus" opened at Sundance this last week and has received tremendous praise as expected. The Duplass brothers really have a perfect knack at telling hysterical stories about unusual people and "Cyrus" looks to be yet another film to add list. "Cyrus" has yet to receive an official release date, however an announcement should come very soon based on all the positive coming from Sundance.

Updated: Following Sundance, Fox announced that "Cyrus" will receive a limited release July 9th, and will hopefully expand based off word of mouth.

It’s so great seeing how John is excited about his date and the way he cleans up and gets dinner ready but the sit ups were way more than I could handle. It’s amazing how desire can change a person. I can see a set up coming from a mile away though and I was anxious to see the introduction of Cyrus into this story. Blockbuster was never my first choice in the past but since my free mail membership has come into my life I’m all for Blockbuster. I got it free with my new DISH Network employee account but it’s free for anyone too.
