Trailer & Poster: Kick-Ass

Last week I posted 4 new posters for the Matthew Vaughn comic adaption "Kick-Ass" and tonight I have a another brand new poster and our first trailer below for you to gander at. The trailer was leaked last night and later officially released today by Lionsgate. One thing both the new trailer and poster have in common is the reality of a powerless superhero. Take a look at both below...

We know that comic fans will line up for this film, however I wonder how well it will actually do with general audiences. Nicolas Cage is sure to draw in a few victims, but will the majority of women be prone to seeing the film? Based off my wife's reaction, I say No. I doubt she would be inclined to see the film, if I wasn't such a huge fan of the original comic.

"Kick-Ass" hits theaters April 16th, 2010 is written and directed by Matthew Vaughn and stars Aaron JohnsonChloe Moretz, Nicolas Cage, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Mark Strong. It's official synopsis reads: 'Kick-Ass' tells the story of average teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a comic-book fanboy who decides to take his obsession as inspiration to become a real-life superhero. As any good superhero would, he chooses a new name -- Kick-Ass -- assembles a suit and mask to wear, and gets to work fighting crime. There’s only one problem standing in his way: Kick-Ass has absolutely no superpowers. Below I have also provided a few screen shots captured from the first trailer.
