Sly Says Rocky 7 After Rambo 5

I am starting to think that Mel Brooks' Spaceballs wasn't so far off when it mocked the Rocky movies with a title spoof of Rocky 5000. News is fluttering around the internet about Sylvester Stallone's recent comments to Tele 5 in Germany, where he eluded to the fact he wants another round of Rocky. Obviously anyone's first reaction is, say what? I thought Rocky Balboa was the last round? But after hearing what the old dog had to say about his reason's, you may find yourself saying why not. Read all the details on "Rocky 7" below...

Could Hooper Return to TCM?

If this rumor/hope turns out, I will be one gleeful horror fan! Earlier this month I reported on Twisted Pictures picking up the rights to Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but new details have emerged that could mean something very positive for the next installment of 'Chainsaw'. Checkout the buzz below...

23rd 007 Shooting Next Year?

Our most current James Bond, Daniel Craig, may have let the cat out of the bag. He told fan's leaving a stage production in New York of "A Steady Rain" that the next 007 film will begin lensing next year. Craig's comments could get Bond fans pretty excited, but there is reason to believe that Craig may have been speaking out of line. For more details see below...

'Third Man' Remake Looms

Once again I am forced to ask myself why is a remake even being toyed with. News broke last night that claims Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire are being setup to remake the classic film noir "The Third Man". I have always believed that remakes are necessary to improve upon film, not to just put a shiny new coat of paint, like some cheap used car salesman. Regardless of my love for the original film, a "The Third Man" remake looks like it will be in theaters sooner than later. Read more details after the jump...

Trailer 2: Wolfman

Our second trailer for Universal's "The Wolfman" has hit Apple trailers this morning and it is a sight to behold. The Wolfman has always been my favorite classic Universal monster and this update directed by Joe Johnston looks to have nailed the original story. I love the look and feel of the trailers and the cast, well it's perfect! "The Wolfman" was originally set to release next month, but was pushed to February 12th, 2010 in order to fine tune the film and CGI. From this new trailer, it seems the extra time has paid off. I can't wait to watch this film early next year! Below are a few screen captures from the new trailer. Check them out and then watch the new trailer below...

Trailer: Edge of Darkness

Despite the fact that nearly every single Mel Gibson film he endures some sort of torturing loss, I can never get enough. I love Mel Gibson, even if he tends to get a little tipsy and say some shit he shouldn't. He's a real gem and I for one am happy he is not behind the camera, but instead in front of it, doing what made his career. Mel Gibson's latest film is "Edge of Darkness" and is directed by Casino Royale helmer Martin Campbell and is set for a January 29th, 2010 release. Today Yahoo! Trailers debuted our first look at the revenge based thriller and I have it here for you below. While the film looks to have a similar feel to this year's "Law Abiding Citizen" having Campbell and Gibson working together is enough for me. I am excited for this and you should be too. Check out the trailer below...

Fav's Not Directing 'Avengers'

One thing Marvel fanboys can finally lay to rest is whether Jon Favreau will direct "The Avengers" movie for Marvel. MTV recent had a chance to ride along with Fav's in his golf cart while in Bora Bora and learned that the director of Iron Man and "Iron Man 2" will not be directing "The Avengers". I will repeat that again for those fanboys holding out hope, Jon Favreau is not directing "The Avengers". To read what else Fav's had to say about Marvel, "The Avengers" and "Iron Man 2", follow the jump...

Trailer: The Expendables

This evening our first trailer to Sylvester Stallone's "The Expendables" has hit the net and I got it here for you below. I have pretty damn excited for this throwback action film and after watching the first trailer, I can't wait! The 3 minute trailer really gives a solid look at what we can expect from this film. One thing is for sure, Stallone's "The Expendables" is gonna be action packed. "The Expendables" is penned and directed by Stallone and stars Jason Statham, Jet Li, Mickey Rourke, Terry Crews, Steve Austin, Randy Couture, Eric Roberts, David Zayas, Dolph Lundgren and is said to have cameo's for both Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger. The star studded action is set for a August 20th, 2010 release, so we still have a ton of time for to wait. Checkout the new action-packed trailer below...

Trailer: Toy Story 3

Last week a brand new trailer debuted for "Toy Story 3" and I have it here for you below. The trailer reveals that Andy is now leaving for college and all of his old toys are being given to a day care or school for new little kids to enjoy. I can't say that the trailer gets me all that excited, but I did love the opening to the trailer that chronicles Andy's earlier years with the Toy Story bunch. "Toy Story 3" is directed by Lee Unkrich and releases June 18, 2010. Checkout the new trailer below...

Trailer: Red Cliff

Today I have finally got around to posting the trailer for John Woo's "Red Cliff". I have been a little reluctant to post the trailer because I am not so sure I like what has happened to the film in order for it to release here in the States. "Red Cliff" was originally a two part film that totaled 4 hours of cinema. The epic story chronicled the Battle of Red Cliffs and the ending point to the Han Dynasty. Magnet has added "Red Cliff" to it's second year of their 6-Shooter Film Series and in doing so, the version that will be released here is only one film. The version that will be released here is hour film. Despite the film being cut into only one film I still highly recommending seeing this film (although I strongly recommend you seek out both Part I and II also). It is one of Woo's best work to date. Checkout the trailer after the jump...

Trailer: The Messenger

Today I have a trailer and poster for a new film starring Woody Harrelson and Ben Foster titled, "The Messenger". The film was written and directed by Oren Moverman and looks to be a real winner. The film was touted at Sundance this year and is finally recieving a release November 13th, 2009. "The Messenger" follows two Army officers who are assigned the duty of the Army's Casualty Notification service. Harrelson plays an officer who has held the position for some time and is training Foster as his partner. The performances alone look stunning and "The Messenger" should prove to be a sombering watch that I am pretty intrigued to see when it hits theaters. The film also stars Samantha Morton and Jena Malone. Checkout the trailer and poster below...

What say you? Does The Messenger look like a tough pill to swallow? Strikeback...

For more details on this disappointing news after the jump...

Sony Taps Gary Ross for 'Venom'

Trailer: Boondock Saints II

The first trailer for Troy Duffy's sequel to his cult hit Boondock Saints has hit the net and I got here for you below. I really dug the first film and hope that "Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day" is a worthy sequel. The trailer highlights the stylized tone to the original and gives us a brief synopsis to why the brothers have stepped out of hiding. "Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day" is written and directed by Troy Duffy and stars Norman Reedus, Sean Patrick Flanery, Clifton Collins Jr., Judd Nelson, Billy Connolly and Julie Benz. The sequel is slated for a Limited release on October 30th. Checkout the trailer for "Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day" below...

Slew of 'A-Team' Set Stills

Something I have been following pretty closely in Joe Carnahan's adaption of the classic 80's television show The A-Team. The film has recently began filming and now some our first set stills have begun to leak out of the new action film. To see the new stills from the set of "The A-Team" and a brief break down of what we can expect from the film after the jump...

Trailer 2: 'Fantastic Mr. Fox'

Wes Anderson is a genius and it looks as though he has done it again. This time in a non-traditional manner by re-telling Roald Dahl's classic children's tale "The Fantastic Mr. Fox" through the use of stop motion. This week a second trailer released for the film released and I cant say enough, how excited I am for this film. The cast is perfect and the animation is a nice change of pace. Anderson has always been one of my favorites and I am sure his latest will become another classic from his talented mind. "The Fantastic Mr. Fox" releases on November 13th in limited engagements and expands wide on November 25th. Checkout the trailer below...

What say you? Excited for The Fantastic Mr. Fox? Strikeback...

Trailer: Tooth Fairy

I can't say that I am excited for this next movie, but I won't say that the trailer doesn't make me curious. 20th Century Fox has released the trailer to their next family film called "Tooth Fairy" starring Dwayne Johnson, Ashley Judd, Billy Crystal and Julie Andrews. While this one will definitely be for the kiddies, it might be fun enough to keep us parents interested as well. There's no denying that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has a ton of charm and seeing him with fairy wings should be worth a few good laughs. Anyways, "Tooth Fairy" releases January 22, 2010 and is directed by Michael Lembeck. Checkout the trailer below...

What say you? Will this hurt to watch or end up being a fun family flick? Strikeback...

Trailer: The Crazies

The first trailer for the remake to George A. Romero's "The Crazies" has hit the net and I have it here for you below. The trailer is really good, however I think it does reveal too much of the story. I mean essentially you get the entire movie condensed into a 2 minute trailer. Even though the trailer does give away too much, it is a remake and I assume they are banking that most have already seen the original. The trailer does also get me interested to see how the film turns out compared to the original. "The Crazies" is directed by Breck Eisner and releases February 26, 2010. Checkout the trailer below...

What say you? Does The Crazies have you excited? Strikeback...

Transformers 3 Rollout in 2011

Michael Bay has confirmed that the third Transformers movie will roll out into theaters on July 1st 2011. It was originally believed that would get "Transformers 3" the next year in 2012, but Bay confirmed on his personal website that he has begun pre-production on the second sequel. Bay also extended a snarky comment to Megan Fox assuring her she is welcome back for the next installment of robots. See Michael Bay's announcement and comments below...

Stunning New 'Titans' Images

A film I have treasured since childhood is Clash of the Titans, so I have been a little weary about a remake. I loved Luis Leterrier's Incredible Hulk and his work on Transporter, so I believed he should do an able job with a remake, but now we have some solid visual proof that this movie should be a real treat (not to mention one kick-ass ride). Both Entertainment Weekly and Empire have released some new photos from the film and I have them here for you below.

Posters: The House of the Devil

While writing my review for Ti West's "The House of the Devil" I ran across these 3 new posters for the 1980's throwback horror film. The film is definitely worth a watch, checkout my review (here) and these new posters are more of a good thing from the promotion of the film. The first poster that released for the film screamed older 80's horror and these 3 new posters are more of the same. I particularly love the first one with the hand coming from the house (wicked). The other 2 are good, however the window silohuette is the lesser of all the released posters. Enough blabber, scrolll down and checkout the new posters below and watch "The House of the Devil" on demand now or see it when it hits theaters on October 31st.
