Jude Law in Character for Rage

Yes, it's a little shocking to say the least, but that is Jude Law. He has decided to take on a role in a film called "Rage" and yes he plays a female. In fact, he plays a celebrity super model named Minx, who unravels as the film unfolds. "Rage" is written and directed by Sally Potter and follows a boy who becomes a player in a high fashion murder investigation when interviews for his website start to spiral into catastrophe. The films is set to premiere at the Berlin Film Festival next week and also stars Steve Buscemi, Judi Dench, Eddie Izzard, John Leguizamo and Dianne West alongside Law.

Director Sally Potter recently posted on her website these two images, a breakdown of what "Rage" is about and why Jude Law took on the role. Checkout her comments below...

Part of the subject matter of RAGE is the ugly use of beauty in the pursuit of profit. Drugged by Marketing, sapped by fear of aging, conned by the cult of celebrity… image becomes all.

Jude Law, whose beauty has sometimes been held against him as an actor, made the courageous decision to accept the role of Minx - a “celebrity super-model” and took on a kind of hyper-beauty for this persona… a ‘female’ beauty which gradually unravels as the story unfolds.

Strangely, the more he became a ‘she’, coiffed and made-up - the more naked was his performance. There was great strength in his willingness to make himself vulnerable. It was an extraordinarily intense part of the shoot.

No U.S. release date has been set at this point. Look for this film to do the film festival circuit before it finds itself a tentative release date.

What say you? Does this sound like an interesting film? Is it worth the price admission alone to see Law as a celebrity super model? How freaky does Jude Law look in this image? Definately eccentric super model, not hot super model! Strikeback...
