WB Options DC's Suicide Squad

Warner Brothers has decided to option one of DC Comics villain team-up comics titled "Suicide Squad." WB already has Jonah Hex, Green Lantern, Superman, Batman, The Flash, Green Arrow and the long talked of Justice League films in the works, so what's adding one more to the plate!

All of the other previously mentioned titles clearly focus on heroes of the DC comics, but Suicide Squad will instead focus on villains that have been locked up and are put together by the United States government to complete a task that is deemed to risky for even super heroes. There have been a few incarnations of the Suicicde Squad over the years including a laundry list of DC baddies. The villains that have seen the most missions include; Death Shot, Rick Flag, Captain Boomerang, Nemesis, Count Vertigo, Plastique and Clock King. There are a ton of other baddies that have graced the team, but the list is too lengthy.

Variety reports Dan Lin ("Sherlock Holmes") and Stephen Gilchrist will produce the film while Justin Marks will write the screenplay. No prospective dates have been set at this point.

What say you? Is Suicide Squad something you'd go see? Which villains should head the team? Will we start to see more villain superhero films coming our way? Strikeback...
