Diablo Cody in Spielberg's Dreams?

Variety reports today that Diablo Cody, who last year won an Oscar for her original script "Juno," as been hired by DREAMWORKS to pen, a unnamed comedy that came from the mind of Steven Spielberg. The details of the idea are being kept under lock & key, by DREAMWORKS executives.

This isn't the first time the pair have teamed up together either. Steven Spielberg who was once asked to consider to directing Juno, before Jason Reitman became attached, was familiar with Cody's work. He has sinced hired her to write the pilot for, "The United States of Tara," a comedy he created and is executive producing airing on Showtime. United States of Tara stars Toni Collette and John Corbett. Official Synopsis for thhe series: Tara is a wife and mother of two children, who happens to have multiple personality disorder, two of her identities being a lustful teen girl and a macho adult man.

Diablo Cody still hot from the success of Juno, has been busy writing "Jennifer's Body" starring Megan Fox and Adam Brody, which is being produced by Fox Atomic and has also pitched "Girly Style" in development at Universal. Cody has been sought after since her Oscar and craze around Juno, she plans to also make a film version of her famous book "Candy Girl: A Year in the Life of an Unlikely Stripper" which is based off her career as a full-time stripper. Meagan Fox has been rumored for this role also.

I am pretty whatever about Diablo Cody! While Juno was fresh and fun, the idea that High School Students talk like grad school kids, I could never get by. I loved the movie, but it was seriously a one-time watcher. Jennifer's Body looks to be pretty cool and usually Spielberg's ideas are pretty good (will forget the Crystal Skull). For me the word is still out on Diablo, once I have seen more of her writing adapted to screen I will pass more of a judgement. For now, could be good!

What do you think? Diablo & Spielberg make a good team? Are you excited to see any of Cody's newest projects?
